Boeing announces its support for Dublin based charities

  • Aoibheann’s Pink Tie provides support to children suffering from cancer in Ireland and their families
  • Pieta provides 24/7/365 professional support to those who are suicidal, or impacted by the loss of a loved one by suicide

DUBLIN,  January 18, 2023 - Boeing (NYSE: BA) today announced a charitable grants package of over €69,000 in continuation of its support for two Dublin based charities.

Aoibheann's Pink Tie, a children’s cancer charity based in Dublin, provides practical support to the families of children diagnosed with cancer who are attending St John’s Oncology Ward in Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, the only treatment centre for childhood cancer in Ireland.

Pieta has a footprint across much of Ireland with 20 counselling centres that provide community-based support services. This year’s grant enables the charity to create new digital content with a video series that focuses on mental health related topics that will be shared online across Pieta’s digital platforms.  Their vision is to provide a readily and easily accessible resource that can assist and prevent self-harm to those who cannot access a counselling centre.

Maria Laine, President of Boeing in the UK, Ireland and the Nordic region said, “I’m proud that we can support these two charities that offer compassionate and emotional support to our Irish community in times of distress or need.”

This contribution is part of Boeing’s global charitable grants package totalling more than €500,000 for the UK and Ireland. The grants, part of the Boeing Global Engagement portfolio, support charitable organisations worldwide who work to make a difference across three strategic pillars: Our Future, developing STEM skills for young people, Our Heroes, helping veterans and their families after service, and Our Homes, supporting local communities.
