Through purposeful investments, partnerships, employee volunteering and thoughtful advocacy efforts, Boeing and its employees support innovative partnerships and programmes that create sustainable value and help build better communities on both a nationwide and regional level. We want to improve access to learning and skills development, be a leader in environmental sustainability and support our military and veteran communities.
Our community engagement efforts focus on three areas:
Our future: tomorrow’s innovators
We’re committed to helping young people achieve their potential through educational and support programmes with a particular focus inspiring young people in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) through hands-on experience.
We support initiatives that focus on participation in education and extra-curricular activities. By participating, young people will be inspired and motivated to continue learning, pursue their ambitions, develop new skills, gain confidence, improve employability, overcome barriers and follow their interests. Our new partnership with Primary Engineer, a national organisation dedicated to integrating engineering education into primary schools, will help drive this rationale.
Projects we support include: The Get Started in Coding programme with The Prince’s Trust; Soaring to Success and Gliding to Solo in collaboration with The Air League; the Project Altitude and Falcon 2 programmes with the Royal Aeronautical Society and Connecting STEM Teachers with the Royal Academy of Engineering.

Our heroes: veterans and their families
We are committed to making sure that our armed forces personnel continue to have support after their service is done, by helping veterans and their families thrive post-service.
There are an estimated 2.4 million UK armed forces veterans in Great Britain and, according to the Open University, up to one in five veterans are discharged due to disability. We address veteran and family workforce transition needs in the UK through programmes that target disabled veterans, help with the transition to civilian life and an emergency fund for veterans and their families.
The Disabled Veterans’ Scholarships Fund (DVSF), delivered by The Open University and co-funded by Boeing, provides a free OU education and disability and careers support service tailored to fully support disabled veterans, injured in or due to service, as they transition to civilian life. We also work with The Air League in collaboration with Aerobility, providing flying lessons in specially modified aircraft to accommodate wheelchairs and power-chairs used by wounded veterans. Our partnership with SSAFA uses the Boeing Emergency Fund for urgent financial support for veterans and a mentoring scheme for those leaving the military.
Our homes: dynamic communities
To support the communities around our growing footprint, be a responsible social corporate leader and connect with the needs of the regions, we look to allocate charitable grant funding in the areas where we live and work. Mental health issues, poverty, employability and homelessness are on-going concerns for our local communities, and contributions to Golddigger Trust, Outfit Moray and St Andrew’s Youth Club provide much-needed mental health and well-being resources, along with skills development opportunities across London, Yorkshire and Moray so that people can reach their potential.
