Bart Moenster, Boeing's Executive Focal to the University of Sheffield
On July 23rd Bart Moenster’s, Boeing’s Executive Focal to the University of Sheffield, was honoured by the University as they awarded him an honourary Doctorate of Engineering degree. Bart’s role in guiding the AMRC to the pre-eminent status it enjoys today cannot be overstated. He has brought his wealth of experience to bear on a number of important new enterprises at the AMRC, such as the Composites Centre, the Additive Manufacturing Centre, the Assembly Centre, the Factory of the Future, and the Apprenticeship Programme for young men and women aged 16 to 19, which has attracted considerable interest from local authorities, the Regional Development Agency, industry, and the Government. The latest initiative is a Boeing-funded scholarship scheme designed to encourage students from deprived backgrounds to study engineering at the University of Sheffield.
